Tomorrow we will travel to our third tournament this season, the Seabass 7’s in Ledbury. After conceding some tough defeats in Milton Keynes previously, we worked hard on the training field in the last couple of weeks. The ambitious and young squad, led by skipper Jack Royle, aims to bring some silverware back home.
As a Gloucestershire based club, we want to ensure that we play as many local tournaments as possible; therefore it was a no-brainer to attend this particular competition. However there is another important reason that motivated us. Head organiser and Ledbury RFC coach Paul Rudland mentioned in his invitation that the tournament is dedicated to Jack Seagust, who tragically died in an accident 2 years ago. Jack only became 21 years old. He loved playing rugby, either for Ledbury or Portsmouth University where he was studying engineering. The event will raise awareness and money for the Air Ambulance and the Injured Player Fund.
It didn’t took us long to decide that this was a tournament we can’t miss, particular if they take place for such great causes. We truly hope that we can add some value to the day with our appearance.
The event will be a true family day with a senior tournament taking place alongside two junior tournaments for the Under 16’s and Under 18’s. The club house will be open all day and night allowing players and supporters to enjoy some of the Ledbury hospitality along with a BBQ offering some much needed food throughout the event.
Come around and support this great tournament
