The Bamboos Women’s and Men’s players are off to Germany this weekend to compete at the countries biggest tournament, the AMS Sevens in Neckarsulm near Stuttgart. In a unique project, the Bamboos have joined forces with Germany’s biggest touring side Bataillon d’ Amour in order to form an invitational team consisting of players from both countries. The teams will play under the name Bataillon d’ Bamboos.
Early this year, Bataillon founder Jakob Seifert and Chairman of 7 Bamboos RFC Max Lueck came together to plan this exciting corporation with the aim to build a long-term link between Germany and Britain. With the help of a Crowdfunding campaign and many supporters, they’ve raised over 3000 Euros in order to realise the partnership.
It has been a lot of hard work preparing the tour but now the squad is completed, the Raging Bull kit has arrived and everything is sorted for a successful weekend. On Friday evening, the player’s will meet for the first time to get to know each other for the two-day tournament.
The AMS Sevens hosts over 35 teams from 14 nations and has rapidly developed into Germany’s biggest and most popular 7-a-side event.
