It feels a bit like a home tournament as the Bamboos team returns to their training facilities at the stunning Shaftesbury Park to compete at the Godfathers Rugby Charity Touch tournament this Saturday.
Hosted by our good friends and fellow Bristol-based club Godfathers Rugby, one of the longest-running 7s team on the circuit, the tournament takes place for the second time with the aim to raise funding for the wonderful CLIC Sargent charity, which fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives.
It’s the first competitive touch tournament for the Bamboos this season and after playing a beach rugby tournament in June this year, this is another brilliant opportunity to mix things up a bit from the tough 7s circuit
The teams for this six-a-side format, are consisting of male and female players, allowing players from the Bamboos men's and women's squad to compete together in one team. Saturday’s event marks the end of the 2019 season, which has been the 7th consecutive year on the circuit.
The matches start at 1PM and are played at Shaftesbury Park, home of Dings Crusaders RFC.
