For the third time, the annual Hartpury Corporate Challenge Cup returns this Wednesday in order to host some of the region’s biggest and most successful businesses for a day full of action.
The 10 participating teams from Gloucestershire and Bristol are coming together for a whole day of touch rugby at the glorious facilities of Hartpury College. The event was introduced for the first time in 2015 as part of the World Cup Trophy Tour and has since then developed into a regular fixture in the busy rugby calendar of the college.
In addition to the Hartpury Sevens, the Corporate Challenge Cup is the second mayor rugby event 7 Bamboos Rugby organises in partnership with Hartpury and the only one of its kind in Gloucestershire.
For the participating teams this is not just a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a day out of office together but also to generate some valuable new links to other businesses in the area. The teams consist of female as well as male players and matches last 18 minutes. After a round-robin style pool stage, the best four sides compete for the Cup trophy while the bottom four will target the Plate.
Last year’s winners and co-hosts Hartpury College will lead Pool A together with the second team of Safran Landing Systems, consulting experts Deloitte, car manufacturer Rolls Royce and the leisure centre chain Everyone Active.
In Pool B, Cup-finalists of 2016, Safran Landing System go head-to-head with Business West, South Gloucestershire Council, HCR Law and Osborne Clarke.
