First of all, we sincerely hope that you, your family and friends are all keeping well and healthy during these unprecedented times.
As for all of us, recent developments of the corona virus pandemic have caused massive disruption to our everyday life. The spread of the virus and its consequently strict but sensible measurements have caused significant changes in the planning of the upcoming 7s season.
The Hartpury Sevens tournament scheduled for the 9th of May has been postponed. Following the advice of the government, the RFU and the Hartpury Sports Academy all sports events at Hartpury are canceled up until July 2020. At the moment, we are considering the option to postpone the tournament to July 2020, but this decision very much depends on how the situation unfolds in the next few weeks and can only be made in the days ahead.
In addition, the planned start of our weekly training sessions at Dings Crusaders RFC in April has been canceled. Again, we are monitoring the situation closely and will decide later this summer whether it is safe to run team training sessions as well as attending tournaments with our women’s and men’s teams.
The Hartpury Corporate Challenge Cup 2020, scheduled for the 17th of July, is still going ahead as planned at the moment, however, whether the event can be actually staged, will be decided later this summer.
We will keep you updated throughout the upcoming weeks and months and like to thank you all for your understanding.
Please stay safe.
